Welcome to QV40, “Where are you going.” The words became famous based on a legendary tale of Saint Peter the Apostle.
The legendary story takes place in Rome. King Niro is burning the city to the ground. In the chaos, St. Peter escapes from prison and is fleeing from Rome from the back gates of the city, down the path known as the Appian Way. As Peter is rushing down the path he encounters Jesus running the opposite way into Rome. Peter stopped Jesus and asked Him, “Lord Quo Vadis?” Translated “Lord where are you going?” Jesus’ reply to Peter’s question, “I’m going to Rome to be crucified again.” Upon hearing Jesus’ message Peter turned around and went back to Rome. Without the Risen Christ so he could be crucified. Upside down, however, because Peter didn’t believe himself worthy to die as Christ dyed.
I’m Deacon Ken, and my team and I created Quo Vadis-40, to bring resources to our fellow Christian disciples to help them answer the question Christ is asking each of us. Qua Vadis…where are you going? More importantly, do you know the way?
